Adiabatic Fibrations, String Dualities and Exceptional Holonomy

Abstract: New instances of dualities between string compactifications can often be understood as a fibre-wise application of known dualities. After a review of classic results, I will give an overview of new instances of such dualities in the context of manifolds of exceptional holonomy - G2 and Spin(7) - as well as an introduction to the physics related to such geometries.
